Loose diamonds, signed pieces from Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany, Harry Winston, and Bulgari. GIA-graded preferred. Up to 55% LTV.
For loose stones, a current GIA report is what moves a piece from "we'll estimate conservatively" to "we can quote close to the top of the range" — cut, color, clarity, and carat weight all matter, but an unverifiable stone gets priced as if it's a grade or two worse than claimed, because that's the risk we're carrying until it's independently confirmed. If you don't have a report, we can usually arrange grading as part of the appraisal, though it adds a day.
Signed pieces work differently: the maker's mark and design recognizability carry real value on top of the metal-and-stone content, especially for Cartier Love and Juste un Clou, Van Cleef Alhambra, and Tiffany Schlumberger and T-collection pieces — established, liquid secondary-market lines. Estate and antique pieces without a hallmark or clear provenance still qualify but are priced closer to melt-and-stone value, since we can't verify the maker premium at appraisal.
